Internship in Health Service Psychology


At Toribio Psychological Services (TPS), our comprehensive internship program equips aspiring psychologists with hands-on experience in therapy and psychological assessments, ensuring they are well-prepared for their professional careers. Join us to learn from experienced professionals and make a meaningful impact on the lives of diverse client populations.

TPS is a provisional member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) as of March 2025. We are actively accepting applications for our current class of interns to start July 2025 via the APPIC approved application system. Currently, TPS is not APA accredited.
What the TPS Internship has to offer

Comprehensive Training: Our internship follows a generalist model, offering experience in psychotherapy, psychological assessments, and consultation/case management. You will gain hands-on experience working with diverse populations across a range of clinical issues, from anxiety and depression to autism spectrum disorders and trauma.

Supportive Supervision & Mentorship: Interns receive four hours of supervision per week, guided by psychologists who are deeply invested in your growth. You will also have the chance to supervise practicum students, enhancing your leadership and mentorship skills.

Learning & Professional Development: Every Tuesday morning is dedicated to our Learning Half Day, which includes:

Weekly seminars with experienced psychologists covering neuropsychology, psychotherapy interventions, and assessment techniques.

Case presentations & Grand Rounds with interdisciplinary teams, including our in house psychiatrist.

A monthly Journal Club to stay updated on the latest research.

Specialized training opportunities in Spanish clinical work with our Spanish SOL group supervision.

At TPS, we are committed to culturally competent care. Our interns work with clients from diverse backgrounds, and receive specialized training to enhance their skills in diverse clinical settings.

Your Role as an Intern

Provide individual psychotherapy to clients across the lifespan.

Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations with supervision and training in various assessments.

Participate in interdisciplinary consultation and case management.

Attend weekly trainings, supervision, and staff meetings to enhance your clinical and professional skills.

Gain valuable supervision experience by mentoring practicum students.
